Snoring Dog is a woman-owned gunsmithing shop based in Maine. The owner sought a logo that would stand apart from the typically ultra-masculine, gun-heavy branding common in the industry. The only requirement was to include her dog in the design.
My solution focused on using typography to convey a sense of craftsmanship and tradition while maintaining an inviting feel. The final brand identity subtly honors the heritage of gunsmithing without relying on clichéd or aggressive imagery.
The typography evokes a timeless quality that aligns with the brand’s craftsmanship. Its bold, sturdy characters reflect the strength and reliability essential in gunsmithing, while its vintage-inspired design complements the brand’s nod to traditional, skilled workmanship. This typeface encapsulates Snoring Dog Gunsmithing’s commitment to quality and detail with a memorable, grounded aesthetic.
